Can You Get Results Training Just Twice a Week?
One of the biggest mistakes people make when trying to get fit is thinking they need to completely change their life.
Five gym sessions a week.
More cardio.
More steps.
More everything.
For most people, it lasts a few weeks.
Then they miss a workout.
One missed workout becomes a missed week.
And before long, they’re back to doing nothing.
We believe there’s a better way.
For many people, two high-quality strength workouts per week is enough to create brilliant results.
Two Hours Out of 168
There are 168 hours in a week.
Can you find two of them to train?
For most people, the answer is yes.
Two full-body strength workouts allow you to train every major muscle group twice per week, while still leaving plenty of time to recover, improve your sleep, manage stress and do the things you actually enjoy.
At Train With Adby, we recommend training two to three times per week.
But when somebody is brand new and currently doing nothing, going straight from zero to three, four or five workouts doesn’t always make sense.
We usually start with two.
For some people, that becomes the sweet spot.
For others, they eventually progress to three when they know they can fit it into their lifestyle.
Quality Over Quantity
Going to the gym twice per week doesn’t automatically guarantee results.
What you do in those two hours matters.
When people train alone, it’s easy to walk into the gym, do six or eight exercises, a bit of this, a bit of that, and then leave.
Was the workout balanced?
Did you choose the right exercises?
Were the weights challenging enough?
Did you do the right number of reps?
Are you actually progressing?
With us, we take care of that.
From start to finish, we make sure you’re doing the right exercises, lifting the right weights and working at the right intensity.
We coach your technique.
We help you progress.
And we make those two hours a far more effective use of your time.
The Problem With the All-or-Nothing Approach
A lot of people start with the mindset that if they’re going to get fit, they need to go all in.
Four or five workouts every week.
The problem is that life gets in the way.
Work gets busy.
The kids need you.
You go on holiday.
You miss a session.
And when the plan only feels successful if you do everything perfectly, one missed workout can quickly become a missed week.
People burn out.
They start to dread the gym.
Then they stop.
We’d rather you train twice per week for the next few years than five times per week for the next three weeks.
Imagine What 104 Workouts Could Do
Two workouts per week might not sound like much.
But over a year, that’s 104 strength training sessions.
104 opportunities to improve your technique.
104 opportunities to get stronger.
104 opportunities to build and retain muscle.
104 opportunities to do something positive for your body.
For a beginner, that can create a dramatic change.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re 30, 40, 50, 60 or beyond.
If you lift safely, train properly and consistently complete two high-quality strength workouts every week, imagine where you could be a year from now.
Is Three Times Per Week Better?
It can be.
We recommend two to three strength sessions per week.
If you enjoy training, recover well and can comfortably fit a third session into your lifestyle, then training three times per week can help you make even more progress.
But more is only better if you can actually sustain it.
We’d never tell somebody they need to train three times per week if two is what fits their life.
Start with what you can stick to.
You can always build from there.
The Best Training Plan Is the One You Enjoy and Can Stick To
You don’t need to live in the gym.
You don’t need to train every day.
And you don’t need a perfect week, every week.
You need a plan you enjoy and can keep doing.
For many of our members, that’s two high-quality strength workouts per week.
If you’re currently doing nothing, imagine the difference 104 properly coached workouts could make over the next year.
